Account Director, Digital Advertising: Boutique Digital Healthcare Agency

Locations: Fully Remote

Our client is a boutique digital advertising agency focused primarily on the healthcare and medtech sector headquartered in Seattle with additional remote employees across the US. They are known for their marketing savvy and technical expertise in developing and executing digital strategies that deliver exceptional business performance. The agency creates business value by working in close partnership with its clients to gain a deep understanding of their businesses and then use data science, deep expertise and technology to surface and deliver on the most valuable opportunities for clients.

They see a strategic, integrative, and results-driven Senior Account Manager (Account Director) to join their Account Management team. The Account Director serves as the strategic owner of the client relationship, accountable for long-term success, retention, and growth. They will operate as a trusted, strategic advisor to senior client stakeholders while leading internal teams toward a unified, forward-looking vision. The ideal candidate will own and evolved long-term multi-year account strategies, acting as a though partner to clients and anticipating their needs. This candidate will bridge high-level strategy and tactical execution, identifying, shaping and pursuing organic account growth opportunities. Above and beyond, this candidate provides exceptional hospitality, executive-level communication and consistent delivery of value.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Client Partnership

- Serve as the primary strategic lead for 1–2 large enterprise clients and 1–3 mid-sized clients, owning overall account direction and health
- Build and maintain deep, multi-threaded relationships with senior and executive-level client stakeholders
- Lead strategic planning sessions, QBRs, and executive presentations that connect digital initiatives to broader business outcomes
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of each client’s organization, competitive landscape, and industry trends

Digital Integration & Generalist Oversight

- Orchestrate the work of internal SMEs across paid media, SEO, analytics, platforms, and technical initiatives
- Ensure all disciplines are operating in concert, with clear priorities, shared goals, and aligned success metrics
- Translate complex, cross-channel efforts into cohesive narratives and actionable recommendations for clients

Growth Ownership

-Proactively identify opportunities for innovation, optimization, and expansion within existing accounts
- Lead renewal and upsell conversations, leveraging strategic insights and demonstrated impact to secure long-term partnerships
- Support new business development by contributing strategic POVs, case study insights, and best practices

Operational Excellence 

While this role is strategy-first, the Account Director remains accountable for execution quality by: 

-Overseeing delivery to ensure work consistently meets or exceeds expectations 
- Monitoring account health, risk, and resourcing — addressing issues before they escalate 
- Managing budgets, scopes, and timelines at a strategic level 
- Ensuring effective use of project management tools to maintain visibility and momentum 

Requirements:

- Proven success leading large, complex, enterprise accounts in a client-facing role
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long-term digital strategies that span multiple disciplines
- Strong generalist knowledge across digital advertising, SEO, analytics, and technical initiatives — with the ability to integrate, not execute, each
- Experience partnering with and influencing C-level and senior stakeholders
- Track record of organic account growth and renewals driven by strategic leadership
- Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation skills
- Ability to balance strategic vision with operational rigor
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and bringing structure to complex problems
- East Coast or Central Time preferred
- West Coast candidates considered if willing to work CST hours
- Experience with enterprise-level clients required (candidates should be prepared to share examples)
