Head of People Opportunity: Emerging Technology Company

Location: New York, NY

Our client is a rapidly emerging, 70 person technology company based in New York City. They have created a new SaaS based intercom technology that is MAJORLY disrupting the real estate industry by making life safer and more convenient for residents, tenants and property managers.

 As they continue to grow, they seek a dynamic and entrepreneurial Head of People (the first hire of its kind!) to create a best-in class employee experience, help shape their philosophy around talent acquisition, and leave a lasting mark on the future trajectory of the organization. This role will report directly into the CEO. This position will involve representing the company to potential external candidates in the most positive and transparent manner in order to attract wonderful new talent as well as to retain existing talent thru more established HR procedures and policies. 

Responsibilities:

-Spearhead and control the talent acquisition process and employee onboarding experience

-Clearly articulate company values to new and existing employees as part of an ongoing effort to maintain a positive company culture by improving the employee experience, bolstering morale and driving productivity

-Develop and lead employee training programs, as needed

-Streamline process of employee goal-setting and mid-year/year-end reviews

-Manage all employee-related questions and concerns, as needed

-Conduct rigorous compensation analysis across industry to ensure all employees are paid equitably

-Identify and recommend the most optimal management and employee benefit packages to be best-in-class, including negotiation and management of annual contracts with providers of employee benefits such as health insurance

-Ensure compliance with federal, state and city legal requirements

Requirements:

-Bachelor’s degree required; Masters degree a plus

-Minimum of 5 years experience in Human Resources at a rapidly-growing company

-Start-up and/or technology company experience desired with an understanding of hiring needs as a company scales

-Excellent oral and written communication skills with sharp attention to detail and excellent organization skills

-Experience with employee compensation and management platforms such as JustWorks and recruiting tools such as Workable and Greenhouse

-Entrepreneurial spirit with a drive to create this role as you see fit

-Eagerness to quickly assume a leadership role inside the organization
